In 2007 the SNP won power at Holyrood in the form of a minority administration. With help from the Greens and the Tories they survived the full four year term and won a second election in 2011, this time with a majority. As a result Scotland underwent a referendum on independence. The result on September 18 2014, was 55% for the Pro Union vote and 45% for the pro separation vote. That translated as 2.1 million votes for the union and 1.6 million for separation. The so called "Yes movement" that had backed the break up of Britain, then formed the backbone of a growing SNP membership, as a result there is once more a clear threat to the union and for the SNP to be influential at Westminster in a way they have never achieved before.
The purpose of this blog/website is to call out SNP lies and hypocrisy as well as its intimidation tactics. SNPout will focus also, on how the unionist parties perform, what they can improve on and how they can better preserve the union, compared with the recent past.
SNPout will also query the existence of Holyrood and whether the union would be better served by its removal. In addition to this we are open to debating the merits and negatives of devolution, something we feel that unionists must do more often, rather than just appease nationalist demands.
